Kaiser: I'm downloadin them right now, before I take mah happy ass ta sleep. I've just finished tweakin da sounds in mah sound wad, once Randy Heit gets back to me on da sndinfo glitch I'll be deciding what to do next. Then I'll be releasin da wad to be beta tested by any volunteers I can get.
In da meantime, I'm gonna start finishin of mah colormaps in my palette wad, so dat I can release it to be beta tested also. Hopefully, we can find a way to convert most of da stuff, and if not, find a way to recolor it so dat it still looks good! ;D
EDIT: I have already tested my palette on several images and I'll tell ya now, da ones dat are gonna be da BIGGEST problem are da ones dat use 1 color mostly.
These images contain thousands of colors..... when you take 1 color with 3000 shades in a pic, and condense it to just 10-15 shades... of course detail is lost..... some however, like hbox1 and hgrate will convert almost PERFECTLY.
But... there is some good news for textures... JDOOM WILL SOON HAVE SUPPORT FOR HI-RES TEXTURES!!! Meanin dat all these textures will soon be able to be used in their normal 32-bit color. So don't throw out them 16-bit and up images, cuz they could be used REALLY SOON! Sprites and flats shouldn't be far behind! ;D
