One word: FUCKING AWESOME!!!!! Oh wait, that's 2 words Yeah, anyway, by far the best console music anywhere...I'm actually contemplating on getting a 3DO (is that supposed to be a zero or an "O"?) just so I can get my hands on that version of DOOM....

3DOs (its an o) are very chep now. But you will not have many fun with that DooM, except for the music. You are warned. ;-) But when you have the console put yout hands on Wolfenstein 3-D for it. Its a good conversion of the MAC Wolf, which has better graphics and sound than the PC Wolf.

Well, there's tons of things that collectors get just for the sake of having them, and I suppose the 3DO version of DOOM will be just such an item And yes, I agree, the Mac version of Wolf3D beats the IBM version. I have both ;D ;D ;D

Hehe, your right. DooM for the 3DO is only a collectors item. Especially for me. I have thought about to buy an Acorn Archimedes, for there is a DooM Conversion, i don't have.
I have only the IBM Version of Wolfenstein 3-D, besides the conversions for the Atari Jaguar, the 3DO and the GBA, and maybe next time the crappy SNES conversion, which is also just an collector item. I know the MAC Version only as the Demo, running on Basilisk II, that MAC Emulator. But the 3DO and Jag Version are the same, only the menu and stat screens are different.

Hey, is that it? Just those 11 Mp3s for the 3D0 Doom? It seems like there should be a lot more! I've never played that version of Doom, but where is the rest of the music for Episodes 2 & 3?

Thats all guys. I havn't found any more songs there. These 11 songs cycle through the entire game, no extra episode 2 or 3 music.
<UPDATE> I have ripped the complete CD, and found the music. But have no idea, which file format they are. I have tried .cda .aiff .mod .wav, but nothing... In Linux they are identified as AIFF files, but Real Player won't play them. All other sounds, i.e. Pistol, shotgun etc. are in .aiff format. </UPDATE>

Damn that sux! My three favorite songs, only 1 out of the three is used in that game which is Computer Station, or E1M7, or Demons on the Prey. My other two favorites are Military Base and Tower of Babel. Ok, who named the songs "Demons on the Pray", and "In the Kitchen", etc. Why can't they just be called "Hangar" or "Phobos Lab" or "Deimos Anomaly" after the levels? It confuses me!

The songs are named by Bobby Prince itself. There is a story 'bout "waiting for romero to play" i've read. All at id rushing into Romeros room, when he was playing doom in an early state, where no sounds were implemented. Romero made all sounds with his mouth, whlie playing DooM. All there rolling on floor laughing. And so Prince named one title after that story. BTW: There where plans to put some FMV intro and cutscenes into the 3DO port. I've seen some pics some years ago in an mag. Now i've found the pics in the net. And i would sell my soul to get the vids.

In the ripped CD direcory are at least 15 songs, which i cann't play at the moment. In game i've get only that 11 songs. Maybe i find a way to play the songs, but don't bet on it. I'm not familiar with coding stuff, and i don't know what is the difference between these "3do .aiff" and real .aiff.
<UPDATE> The songs are kind of enhanced aiff. Unfortunately they use a codec that the 3do company have developed for some enhancements like 3d audio. </UPDATE>

Hey Cybdmn, If you send me the music files that you ripped from the 3DO game, I can give it a shot and try to convert them to Mp3s. I think I may have the software for it. It's worth a try. My e-mail address is is mdb1284@juno.com. Also, if you could Zip them when you send them, that would be great.

Email is a bad idea. The uncompressed songs are 144 mb. There must be another way. Other problem is the propietary codec. You have to reassemble the codec on the cd, to get an idea how that codec works. I have tried various players that know various aiff formats, but i got only some disharmonic sounds.
BTW: there 14 songs, not as i sad before 15.

Here's what Ledmeister said there was (he ripped straight from the CD): 01: Logicware screen 02: Art Data Interactive screen 03: Doom title/credits/menus, Level 7/18 04: Level 1/12, tally screens 05: Level 2/13 06: Level 3/14 07: Level 24 (accessed from Level 3) 08: Level 4/15 09: Level 5/16 10: Level 6/17/22 11: Level 8/23, salute screen and cast 12: Level 9/19 13: Level 10/20 14: Level 11/21 So looks like all we need is the first 3 (I think, depends what the track for level 24 is). The original AIFF files are quite huge. I believe he said Level 10 was 36 megs. OUCH! Even if he sends them and I re-encode, that's quite an upload! I'm playing around with that track right now, but can't get it sounding quite as perfect as your tracks, cybdmn. Oh, and great work again cybdmn! You rock. Can anyone fill in the track names to the levels? It might help.

Thx Elbryan. I've ripped the complete CD. It takes me one night, to get an direcory structure that windows can read (Windows can't read 3DO CDs). And the songs her are numbered as follows:
Song1----763 KB Song10--6.88 MB Song11--12.3 MB Song12--12.4 MB Song13--12.3 MB Song14--9.59 MB Song15--8.34 MB Song29--11.2 MB Song3---5.14 MB Song5---10.4 MB Song6---13.0 MB Song7---14.3 MB Song6---13.9 MB Song9---14.1 MB
Thats, what my data looks. Maybe they are compressed. Do you know, how Ledmeister (he is great, never seen such an complete DooM Info Page) get those raw ripped tracks to a format that is playable ?
I'm playing that DooM at the time, i would write the tracks, i hear in any level.
BTW: i've seen DooM II only textures in that DooM.
