Well, seeing as I have nothing else to do at the moment (driver's ed finished yesterday and I don't need to work until about 3), why don't I announce some projects that I have in mind?
1) This one has been in progress for the past couple of months. A friend and I have decided to collaborate together to make something that will annoy the fuck out of Liam, Lüt, and Fraggle, maybe a few others: you guessed it! For the clueless, or if you've gotten amnesia due to my long absence, my friend NightWatcher (whom you may know and I know in real life) and I are putting together a new Nine Inch Nails "theme".
I know, there have been a few NIN type of wads out there, but I plan to make this one really something that even the NIN haters out there (may they get raped by their pets) just might find amusing in one sense. My only fear is that Liam won't even bother to put it in the /newstuff just because my name will be in the credits. Come on dude; don't be such an ass. My friend is working on this too, give him some respect.
What I hope to plan is to make this theme for both games, but for now I'm just making it for the first DOOM. In terms of progress, all the music is placed, many of the graphics are in, but no sound as of yet. However, I plan on starting that today (CDex iz teh shiznit! ;')
2) Now THIS one you all might remember. Do you know of that finished, unreleased project called RAW IS DOOM? (caps on purpose) Well, I started reworking that to make it better, but it got deleted accidentally when I had to reinstall Doom. No worries; I had only begun the first level.
With high hopes, I want this one to end up even better than the unreleased one my friend (NightWatcher, again) and I made previously. Now that I have a little bit more knowledge of mapmaking, perhaps I can construct more detailed maps, at least more than they were before.
Comments? Rants? Suggestions?

INCH NAILS RULEZ!!!
What a coincidence, I'm listening to Nine Inch Nails: All that could have been Live. I love Nine Inch Nails, it's my fav music artist (I don't really know that I should call it a band, being that Trent Reznor seems to get all the publicity like any singer).
A Nine Inch Nails theme huh? I think it'd be cool, especially to base some of it off of the videos "Closer" and "Perfect Drug" (my fav NIN video). It got them downloaded, right along side my KoRn videos (hey, that'd be cool to do a Korn theme based off of the "Make me Bad" video, heh heh heh).
The Perfect Drug:
I got my head, but my head is on halfidly, can't keep track of where it's traveling. I got my heart but my heat is no good, and you're the only one that's understood. I'd come along but i don't know where you're taking me, I shouldn't go but you're rich and drag and shaking me, turn off the sun, pull the starts from the sky, the more I give you the more I die! And I want you, You are the Perfect Drug, the Perfect Drug, the Perfect Drug. You make hard, when I'm all soft inside, I see the truth when I'm all stupid-eyed, the yellow goes strait through my heart, my blood wants to say hello to you, my fears want to get inside of you, my soul is afraid to realize what very little is left of me. You are the the Perfect drug, the perfect drug, the perfect drug, You are the Perfect drug, the perfect drug, the perfect drug, You are the perfect drug, the perfect drug, the perfect drug. Take me with you, without you, everything just falls apart, it's not as much fun to pick up the pieces.

Nice to see another Reznorite among the community Anyway, I'll get into a little bit more detail on that project: -The hardest part is, of course, extracting the right sounds to use. Most of the ideas I've had came from various desktop themes I've downloaded. Trust me, only a handful of them are fitting. It's CDex time now... -I have the following graphics done: M_Doom (menu header), both M_skull icons, titlepic, episode name graphics (Pretty Hate Machine, Broken, The Downward Spiral, The Fragile), level name graphics (each one is a title of a song/tune) -As for music, each episode contains MIDIs from the corresponding album that is named in the main menu (i.e., Pretty Hate Machine music for KDITD, etc.). The only episode I've had some trouble fitting the music in was The Shores of Hell, or rather, Broken. Right now the situation was better than it was before since I found a MIDI of Happiness In Slavery, something which I never thought I would find in a million years. Before I couldn't even find that and was forced to use Downward Spiral MIDIs to fill in the levels. Now the only one I can't find from Broken is Physical. All of the non-levle music (e.g., intermission music) is from The Fragile. Find those MIDIs also made my life easier. Now I didn't have to use Pinion for the title music. - One more thing about the music; for each secret level, I've used three of the four soundtrack singles. It would be nice if there was some way (or if I knew how) to change the music to Episode 4 independently, because then I could use MORE Fragile MIDIs in the WAD. Sadly, even if there was a way to do that, I'd have to find a MIDI of Deep, which I have been unable to find. Even worse, I can't use the version of the Perfect Drug MIDI that I wanted. Perhaps you all know of the "MUS buffer full" error in MIDI2MUS. And annoyingly enough, it's only about 25 tracks, yet the Happiness In Slavery MIDI that I used was over 40, almost 50, tracks. Strange, isn't it? Anyway, I was forced to use the crappy MIDI version. OK, I'll catch my breath now.

Yeah, I'm a Treznorite. ;D I'd say my fav songs are Perfect Drug, Closer, and the Great Beyond. You know though, once it gets into Closer a little, the music really reminds me of the music I'd here on a Ultimate Doom level. Actually, I have a band (me being the lead singer/guitarist), and we nearly did a perfect cover of Closer, that night rocked! I've heard of NIN for years, then, this last March, I got my first NIN CD (All that Could Have Been: Live), and I've been hooked ever since, wishing I woulda gotten a CD way before now. I actually like the sound of the live version of "Closer," over the original track. It has some new sfx in it. NIN would definatly be a perfect band to do a theme around. But no "Perfect Drug?" I guess that's kinda okay, being that it's off of a soundtrack to a movie . But it's my fav video so far. I mean, I can just imagine using all the dynamic lighting (I'd convert it to ZDOOM BEHAVIOR), and all that stuff. Then, I'd take the red sky I have, in paint, and change it to a purlish-Dark blue color (the sky over the mountatins), and it'd be awesome! Unfortunatley, I've devoted my DooM mapping time to the Doom64 TC. But I'm getting everything done so fast, I might just try this out for the fun of it! Just wondering, but do you think you could send me some MIDIs? I'd love to put one up on my website, instead of the crap music that's there now. Closer:You let me violate you, You let me desecrate you, you let me penetrate you, you let me complicate you, help me, I broke apart my insides, help me, I've go no soul to sell, help me, the only thing that works for me, help me get away from myself, I wanna fuck you like an animal. I want to feel you from the inside, I wanna fuck you like an animal, my whol existence is flawed, you get me closer to god. You can have my isolation, you can have the hate that it brings, you can have my absence of faith, you can hvae my everything, help me, you tear down my reason, help me, your sex I can smell, help me, you make me thoughtless, help me become somebody else, I wanna fuck you like an animal, I want to feel you from the inside, I wanna fuck you like an animal, my whole existence is flawed, You get me closer to god, you get me, closer, to god.

If it's not too large, i'll host it on my site... And I think you can get some Wads off here, under the themes directory, somehwere around there anyways. There are a few, you can then simply extract them from the wads.

Of all the things I know about DooM Editing, and something that seems fairly simple I don't know (i don't know if it is or not, i say it seems "Fairly Simple" so if it is I don't offend anybody) Anyway, if you guys wanna see some of my work from my DooM levels, check this site out (It's my site, but I don't figure you want to go in and figure out what's what, but if you do, I'll put the home page here too) I have pics of my levels here, and as I type this, am getting ready to put pics of of Level 30: The Lair. Tell me what you think (except for the dynamic lighting, It's overwhelming, because I monitor is darker than the norm, so good on here is bright to you, I'm working on a new monitor) Enjoy!: Link Directly to My D64 TC Page:www.geocities.com/fly_taggart2002/d64tcLink to My Home Page (Outpost Omega):www.geocities.com/fly_taggart2002/home

Massive flooding here in San Antonio has prevented me from turning on my computer long enough to really work on this thing even further. Perhaps I can post some teaser screenshots soon. Don't expect much, though. Like I said, I've only done minor additions. The only completed part is the music insertion. I will be honest; I haven't seen any of the other NIN conversions yet (and mmnpsrsoskl, I already said in the starting post that I know of them). Who knows? When I see them, I might have to abandon the project knowing that somebody already beat me to it. EDIT: Not only have I just now seen the current wads ou there, but I also think they blow beyond comprehension. None of the graphics are sized right (I guess this was in the days before photoshop), the CHOICE of the graphics could have been better, and more. There was only one wad that I found which had replacement graphics. All the rest were just music wads. Speaking of the music, I have granted my word and have zipped up all the NIN midis. Get them here (you'll have to copy and paste the URL into the addy bar). Trust me when I say that I've found some that surpass the ones I've heard in other wads. But, like I said, they were made obviously before things got better, so I can't hold that against the authors. Enjoy. Screenshots will be up tomorrow.

Looks good to me man. I see it's for Ultimate Doom eh?. Well, what I have in mind, is to make a Doom2 version, with ZDoom as a port, and all the levels have behavior. I like the idea of making some levels based off of the surroundings in the videos. Like in "The Perfect Drug," everything has a blue tint, and it's kind of dark and technological mixed together in some parts. Also, the purple sky, well, I can do that easily. Then, in Closer, it doesn't show much, it looks to be a small area, but could be a small level. What do you think? We'd beable to use dynamic lighting and everything.

All I'm making is kind of a music/sound/graphic replacement. Nothing beyond that. And I think I said before, I might add Doom 2 implementation later.
Update: Sounds were also added today, but I have to warn you, it will get pretty cacophonic at times with all the clutter. I would recommend only playing this modification at a skill level no higher than HMP, and even that's cutting it a little too close.
I'll have to go and change a couple of them around. I wasn't satisfied with the end result. And don't get too comfortable with those intermission shots I put; I plan to replace those as well. In fact, I might go do it as soon as this is posted. Just keep in touch (it would be nice if I had more than TWO enthusiasts!)
