I've done a PSX sounds wad that uses bit-perfect waves from the PSX. The cool thing is I pulled these direct from the PSX Doom source code, so I was able to convert them without ANY recording OR editing! As a result, I didn't have to worry about echoes or outside sounds interfering. It's just the raw data of each sound coverted to the wad. You literally cannot get any better quality than this! BTW, this also allowed me to use some PSX monster sounds that were inadvertantly not used in the game, such as "dsposit3" and a couple of other death sounds that were missed. Here's the zip file: www.twingalaxies.com/firebrandx/temp/psxsultra.zip

Yeah I noticed that too. I had to laugh because the most creepy sound in the game comes from the most gay sound!

Had to make a minor change in the player yell, but that's already been updated. I whipped out some voodoo 5500 jdoom and started playing it again. I'm still amazed at how good that program makes doom look on glide! I still play with monster sprites instead of MD2s, but I do play with weapon/item models. Abbs alt weapon pack rocks!

Hey Firebrand, you said you ripped the sounds right from the game source. How, and better yet, with what program?
I want to rip textures from CastleVania SOTN. I want to make a DooM-map of the "Long Liberary".
