So.. There was a difference between the PC an Mac Wolfenstein's? Yup.Lemme Explain.Altough at first glance the Macintosh Wolfenstein 3D may seem more advanced with MP3 Music, Much hicher resolution graphics, and greater sounding sounds, the PC version is actually the more advanced of the 2, despite being 2 years older. The Macintosh version also sports two new weapons, the flamethrower and rocketlauncher. Also the Macintosh version has two more types of ammo : of course, what else?Gas tanks and Rocket packs. The Macintosh version even has an automap (the . key). However, the Mac version has only 2d sprites, meaning everything has only one side. Also, the Mac levels aren't divided into Episodes. So, you could think of the levels like this: PC Wolf3D : The "Ultimate" Wolfenstein Mac Wolf3D : Wolfenstein "2" The Mac also featured a 3rd encounter Mission Pack, which was supposed to make up PC Episodes 2-6.Obviously, the levels number is nowhere near the same, with PC episodes containing 10 levels including the secret one.The Mac Version has no secret levels. More about the levels. The Mac Levels are usually alot less intricate, and much shorter. For example: The Exit to 1-1 (Mac) or Episode 1-1(PC) are exactly the same, the PC version allows more possible sidetrips and more rooms. Also, in the PC version you can sneak up on guards. One more thing : TREASURES.The Mac version treasures add +1 to your <ITEM> count. In the PC version, the treasures randomly give you 500, 1000, 2000, or 5000 points, depending on what you pick up.

Well, that would be awesome if the two could have been merged using the best of each.

No Mac versions. Sure someone with *nix experience can recompile the Linux version to work with OS X but that ain't me.
I don't know if I like low quality sprites with Antialiasing on.

Ok. I'm new here in the forum and my first message will be about what I think about Doom and making a movie about Doom. Well, Doom, as most of the message posters here, is my favorite game (that and "Streets of Rage", the one we were told to kick some punk asses down). Every time I play Doom, that Nostalgic felling of ripping imps with a chainsaw invades me. I had just 6 years, but that was "Gawdayum" cool. I never had finshed the first but I already finished the second, and only last year I completed the first doom. Well, After I killed the S.MasterMind I were presented with that "impaled and ripped off bunny head The End" and this will sound wussy, but I just HATED IT !!! Well, when I was a kid, I didn't like some of the architecture of some doom levels. No, it wasn't the graphic violence of the levels, no. But that wood and stone, looked to me a little bit like my grandma's house. With the time I began to aprecciate those decors as well. But I never liked that SATANIC and GORY attitude of the game. And I still don't, but let's face it. You're a marine that is fighting against Hell so it's better to it to be Damn Bloody. We are fighting against Hell, not supporting, and just because I like that Icon of Sin decos, that doesn't makes of me satanic. Well, even so I didn't, and I don't like the bunny's head thing, but that was a way to say "to be continued", besides our marine revenged Daisy's (the buuny's name) death in the harder doom1 levels, so... At this time, if you still had patience to read this so far, you're proably asking "what does this crap have to do with the movie?". So, well...here it is. Another game movies as "mortal kombat", and "Tomb Raider" for me were so-so, because of the age limitation. But those were some other games. We're talking about Doom!!! Rated M!!! We're talking about zombies, demons, Giant beasts, and Gore Galore! So it's better to it to be rated R, because no doomers want limitations in the script just because some 13 year olds that might dont even remember the game, can see it. I am 14, almost 15, but as some other kids playing super mario, I were as well the only one playing Doom, and you know why? Because it was too damn cool to not to play it just because it was spooky (for the time). So rate it R. I'm fourteen, but in the country I'm living (not Usa) movies as "the thing" and "scary movie" are rated PG-13. I've always seen movies as "Aliens" and "Predator" with 8 years old, so what? Rate it R for Christ sake and leave the bunny head account out of this!
P.S. Since 2003 will be Doom year, it would be good that that rumor that McFarlane toys were going to make some Doom figures, become true. Since kid I wanted to have a Deluxe Cyber-Demon figure. "It has rocket-launching!"

I havent seen that page before. It´s sad so see that they want to rate it PG-13. That will ruin everything.
