Can anyone give me a hand on how to get jdoom to play the playstation doom mp3s? I tried every combination I could figure out from the readme about changing the audio.ded and i'm having no luck. Is there any trick to it? thanks

Hmm... it should work right away. Make sure you set the maximum wad size to over 70 megs or it'll crash. The default is 32 megs.

go to the jdoom site and grab the additional ded files for mp3 playback in wads.

I think he wants to know the syntax for adding in mp3 files. Here's how I do it:
Go into the audio.ded file. You'll see entries that look like this:
Music { ID = "e1m1"; Lump = "D_E1M1"; }
Simply change those lines to look like this:
Music { ID = "e1m1"; Lump = "D_E1M1"; Ext = "C:\Doomsday\Data\jDoom\Music\psxdoom01.mp3"; }
Where "psxdoom01.mp3" is, you would obviously type the name of whatever mp3 you are using is. Also don't forget that your folder address must actually match where your mp3s really are.
Next, make sure the in-game audio options are set to play the mp3 files and you should be ready to go. I like this method because you can make play lists and play Doom with different soundtracks on any given day (provided you have the mp3 files in the proper folders).

As long as the jdoom.ded file points to the audio.ded file, it should have worked if you set the in-game audio options to "EXT" and made sure your folders for the mp3s were correct.
The only reason it wouldn't work now would have to be your sound card not having multi-mixing support. This seems unlikely as even the average computer has sound cards that support this.
