I am starting a new megawad featuring most of the Jaguar and PSX Doom levels for the pc. This will include the modified levels like Phobos Anomaly, Command Center, Halls of the Damned, and the console exclusive levels as well.
this may not be a good idea. but I would like to hear your thoughts on this. And if anyone wishes to help, I won't mind.
these are all the maps that has some major changes in the console versions that I will be converting.
map01: Hanger map02: Phobos Anomaly map03: Containment Area map04: command center map05: Halls of the Damned map06: spawning vats map07: hell gate map08: hell keep map09: pandemonium map10: house of pain map11: mt erebus map12: limbo map13: the marshes map14: threshold of pain map15: twlight decends map16: rememption denied map31: the mansion map32: club doom
this will be made for Zdoom and will only has 18 levels.

Its an good idea. I had that idea years ago, but never startet it. The most of these levels are the same in all console DooMs, i.e. Pandemonium is exactly the same in SNES, PSX, Saturn, Jaguar and 32X Versions. I think, that makes it easy for mappers, who miss a certain console conversion. As you maybe have seen in your "the mansion" thread, i'm working on a ZDooM conversion of club doom. When i'm finished, you can have it, and if you like it, take it for the megawad.

You forget the Doom II monsters replacement in Doom. (For example, the chaingunner in E1M1 in UV...) Maps order is not the same too. So you can do a 32 (maybe more) levels megawad. (even if some maps are similar) I don't know yet if it's possible to include more than 32 maps (maybe with a mapinfo.lmp file) in a megawad... ULTIMATE DOOM takes 33 levels on PSX (30+3 secrets) DOOM II takes 26 levels (24+2 secrets) Too bad that I suck in map creation... All I did is the MASTER LEVELS megawad and it works fine. Well I know that all I did is to merge them together and add some little features. It's not a real creation, but I think it's more playable in one wad only. (with the PSX final text at the end, map names...) If some of you want to "play-test" it, just ask ! But go on, this project rules !!! Nice work on CLUB DOOM and THE MANSION maps ! Some of you really rocks in map editing, it's amazing !

It's me again... Now I'm sure. If you use Zdoom, you can make the DOOM PSX TC in one 59 maps megawad. Exactly the same ! The mapinfo file allows you to make it.

I am only converting the maps that has huge changes like Spawning Vats and Halls of the Damned.
adding the others like Entryway and others that look just like the same will be like warezing 40% of Doom2!
its only going to have 18 levels. nuff said.

I already now about RD and Club Doom, and Spawing Vats as well. I need to get permissions from those authors.
Hanger has a new texture seen in GBA, Jaguar and PSX only, and some parts has been removed near the green armor. plus some areas seemed more wider than its pc counterpart.
Limbo has a new texture as well, the red bricks. Although it looks like SP_HOT, but its not. And I recall a switch that does something else than what it did in the PC version but forgot...

btw, this texture is used quite frequently in some of the Doom1 maps in psx, and GBA versions.

The Redemption Denied map isn't like the original... It's very close but the exit isn't at the same place. (If I remember well...) And there's no special action when you kill all the barons and all the spiderdemons... (walls don't get down by killing every monsters, but by crossing a line...) You might use the magic sector 666 if I'm right...
Note: I've nothing against the man who did this map ! It's anyway a great job that I never can do myself...
You can make SUBURBS too, with the secret exit to THE MANSION... (if you want to do as close as possible the changes between versions...)
For HANGAR (and not HANGER), the only differences I see is the lack of pillars in the room with the green armor...

The hanger level in Ultimate DooM has an switch on one of these pillars, to open the secret passage to the blue armor, that no console conversion has. That switch is also missed in the original DooM (3 Episodes).

I am trying to copy this fucking annoying curve shown here I need it exactly like the way it is. I spent all day trying to get it look right, but no luck. I really appriciate it for those who can help and if one of you do help me out, you will be credited. thanks.

Hmm... that looks mysteriously like part of the map from Threshold of Pain. Too bad I suck at level editing.

Is it Theshold of pain ? That information may help to get an idea, what exactly that part of the level looks. Oh, what Editor do you use ? Is there a copy and paste functionality support, like that in Wauthor ?
