Hello. I just recently finished remodeling the crushing device in the Terraformer. It looks much more like the one in the actual game now of course it doesn't pound the ground . Anyways things are coming along nicely. I'm going back and implementing lighting to the different areas to give it the dark look that Doom64 is known for. After level 10 is complete I will be implementing the Doom2 textures where I feel they are approriate. Later.

How easy would it be to convert these to ZDoom? I can't play a Doom 64 level without the music. Not to mention I can't stand the restricted mouse look in Legacy. Also, how many levels actually use 3D? I can only think of a few. And there must be something you can do to simulate the effect. Alien Vandetta has bridges and works with the regular doom2.exe.

In response to Elbryan's post - The reason I only like Legacy is because I heard its a lot more stable than ZDoom's engine. Plus if i want to play music from doom64 I just run the songs in winamp which I was able to download curtusy of DoomDepot ;D. As for Kaiser's post - Is the open area with the sky in level 4 using 3D floors? Doom64 seems to do things no Doom port out there can do like this. Also enemies that just fade in out of nowhere. Oh well. Just to add to the list of areas that have 3d floors:
Research Lab The Spiral the homing rocket shooters in Dark Entries maybe Holding Area

Tech Center uses some 3d effects for the beams at the outside area, so I had to improvise some.
Speaking of which, my remake is completed. Be forewarned that it has no new music, textures, monsters, or triggers. It's based to run with the original exe, but I did however do a pretty good job simulating or improvising with some of the special effects that can't be done with an editor or source port. I tried to add colored lighting, but it didn't work. I ended up getting flats with magenta and blue tiles like on a checker/chessboard. Each tile was about 6 points squared in size.
The relevant news is that it's done, but I currently have no place to upload it.

Please send me a copy of the map Lutarez...if it isn't too big ;D I can try and upload it to my website if you want...actually I will. Thanks. And in response to the crusher thing...if you can't simulate it actually crushing the ground, just make a switch and lower the ground down. It is way simpler but I guess a lot different from the actual game.
