I and another person form the fourums whom I will not reveal because he wishes to remain unknown have seen very odd things at the fourums like 6 guests appeared and did nothing and then they dissapeared. Also the newest members besides cybdmn have no information on their profiles, this seems very odd. Now i'm closing off with a THEORY for this sudden jolt of people on the fourums it's either A. These people want to steal elbryan's idea and go on ahead and pass it off as their own when it was really elbryan's idea. Or B. They are spammers, a fourum's worst nightmare, I have evedence for this, the evedence is that the people's profiles have almoast nothing in them and the people that have singned up have barly shown up even once.
That is what I think is going on here. Now keep in mind that this is only a theory and it is neither right or wrong.
thank you for your time.

I've noticed that too, but never gave it any thought.
EDIT: How could they be stealing Elby's ideas? The forums related to the Doom64 TC are password locked.

Hmmm.... cybdmn is okay by my standards, he has been helping us get the 3DO music, and posts alot. So he atleast acts like he's part of the Depot's forums. However, I've noticed a ton of members showing up that sign up and don't even freaking post... very suspicous I'd say..

Thanks again Melfice, for your pleasant words. I would not getting panic for some new members without profiles. I'm for myself am an administrator of an forum with approximately 800 members. You can look at it at bloodisred.portal1.clanserver4u.de/forum/index.phpOk, the most of you would not understand only one word, cause its in german. We discuss in the maintime about censorship in PC and console games. A problem, what the most other countrys don't have. OK, we have this nude little thing in Giants Citizen Kabuto. But you should see, how Soldier of Fortune in the german version looks. ;D No blood, no humans (all roboters) etc. All i can say is, there are at least 20% of the users, that are registered, without only one post. One of the thing we have painfully learned ist the fact, that all users have to be registered with a email adress and we need RULES. There where times, with an open forum, without registration, where we had an full time job to kill all the fucking warez posts. After that we killed the open forum and defined rules. If an members break the rules, he gets an warning. When he won't learn, we kick him. Thats the best way. The rules, we have, in a short form: Postings about warez, romz etc. are strictly forbidden. Posting of material, that is unlawful is also strictly forbidden. All users have to be friendly to others, offensing other users or flamewars are forbidden. Racistic or Nazi- Stuff and offensing minorities (gays, handicaped etc.)is forbidden. The postings should be theme oriented. (We have no OT Forum, there are spam enough in the other forums ) And some others, that are more german specific. BTW. We use phpBB 2.0.1 , and this has an integrated IP logging functionality.

We can afford to be a little suspicous of things, being how far we have come on this TC. I myself have done or am working on somwhere around 8 levels for it. I am a guardian of the TC, and therefore shall protect it.
Still though, we hadn't gotten many new member until rescently. It is quite odd. And a number of them have asked for resources we are using for the TC. We can't be too careful, but at the same time, we can't be not careful. But your welcome cybdmn. Anyone who gives is a nice person. Plus, the fact that you live in Germany got you on my good side partly. My best friend moved there a long time ago, because his family was originally from Germany. So, they moved back.

I can understand your care for your TC. For i know, what damn hard work it is to mapping (some never released and not that good Duke, Quake and Doom maps), painting textures (i'm not bad at photoshop) and of course ripping the textures, sounds and sprites from a running game (it takes me about 4hrs to record a little bit about 20 min of 3DO DooM music). thats not only hard work, but planning and administrering the resources too, which is the less funny side of that.
And for the giving. I think that the internet lives from giving and taking. That make it sometimes better than the real world.

I just had a user IM we asking HOW we got da sounds ripped from the psx version of Doom.... I told him that all information relating to the TC and things used in it classified.... which had best be done da same way by the rest of DDT. As for peeps trying to "hack in and steal elby's ideas"... there ain't much to steal from da forums, considering that none of the files are available for download within da forums. They in fact, are not available for download anywhere! If anyone is tryin to get on some shadiness, trust me... they are wastin' their time! ;D

Actually, the method I heard was that as the sound started, they paused the game quickly before it ended, then got the mic ready, unpaused, and the sound started over again with the mic recording it this time.
Personally, I think that's a load of bull.

I just used a program called PSound from the website: snailrush.online.fr/software/index.phpThe sounds are all perfect quality that way. All you have to do then is extract the sounds from the various LCD files.

PSound does allow you to make bit-perfect extractions of Doom sound effects directly to your hard drive. However, it does NOT allow you to pull the Doom music instructions off. Emulators play the music poorly and inaccurately, so those are not an option either.
Still the best method for pulling the music I have done is by using the PS2 and a fiber-optic digital audio cable. The PCM is sent directly to my minidisc recorder without signal loss or distortion. I can then use a program called "Goldwave" to do any extra editing I might want. Using this method, I have bit-perfect rips of all my favorite PS music, including the Dooms and Symphony of the Night.
Original PS1 does not have a digital audio output, so your are left with analog output on it. This not only loses sound quality, but I have been able to hear video "Hum" in the background. This noise is coming from the PS1's internal circuitry and cannot be avoided.
