As the subject says, i want to know with which tool i can put an cas script in a .wad for zdoom. After i finished a conversion of staging area for doom, i'm familiar with wauthor again. I have not do that since ages. Now i want to use acs scripts for some special effects in levels i.e. fog or that light fade in effect from Doom64. My Wauthor is configured for Zdoom, and running fine. There are good explanations on how to use acs scripts on the Zdoom Homepage, but not how to get them in the .wad. Wintex don't works BTW: i dont take the editing think too serious, its just for fun. ;D <Update> Ok. I'm stupid. In Wauthor itself i can write and compile the scripts. Hehe. </Update>

Thanks. I've done that, until i have read some tuts, and saw, that i can write, compile and include the scripts in Wauthor itself.

I was gonna say, in April when I first learned how to map decently, I used DeePsea and notepad to do mine. Kaiser was the one who taught me how to script ;D. He was even nice enough to create a tutorial of how to create scripts and using them, using DeePsea. If you use DeePsea, and are interested, post on here or something, and I'll see about sending it to you.

I've installed DeePsea(Shareware) on a 2nd PC. It would be nice, to get some help. Maybe i want to switch from Wauthor to DeePsea, when it makes sense.

I must have an older version of WadAuthor because I cannot build and compile scripts using it. Maybe it's the zdoom.wcf file I have. I got it straight from the notgod site so I don't know what's wrong.

I use Wauthor 1.30 with the .wcf file from the notgod site, and it works. All you have to do is to rightclick on a empty space on your map and choose script. the script editor pops up, and all works fine.

Not over here.
1. Most of the time when I choose zdoom.wcf as the config, it crashes everytime I highlight something on the map.
2. When I right-click on an empty space on the map, there is no 'scripts' in the menu.
3. Some effects, I.E. flat scrolling and whatever what makes conveyor belt effects, do other things than what it's supposed to do.
4. Most effects are missing such as Sector_SetFade (which I really want to play around with) along with a bunch of others.
I'm not sure if 1, 2, and 4 have to do with the thing being unregistered or if it is just plain fubared. I really can't explain 3. Whatever what's wrong, I would really like to get it working properly.

Hmm.. Have you used zwadconv.exe to convert your doom.wad/doom2.wad to ZDooM format ?

I got zwadconv and converted a new wad to test it out, but after the conversion it won't open the wad at all. None of the wcf files are recognized. I repeated the process in case something went wrong but the same thing happened. Great.

Have you given in the pathes to your converted .wad ? There is a section in the zdoom.wcf like this:
[WadGame] Name=ZDoom (Hex) IWAD=zdoom2.wad (my converted .wad in the zdoom directory) NewMap=MAP01 Directory=E:\zdoom(path to zdoom) Run=zdoom.exe -file $_Wadfile -warp $_Wadmap

Ah, got it. I tried to convert one of my pwads instead of doom2.wad.
Ok, I did what you did and created zdoom2.wad, so now it works.
