Okay, I figured I'd let you guys now that while I've been laying low, I've been working...alot, on Dark Nexus. And last night, I completed a list of level names, so check this out, and tell me what you think guys!

Heh, I can already tell this thread is gonna be as big as my TC progress thread in the Absolution Forum (it has 100 posts, 7 pages long, lol.) I don't mind though, hopefully I can get Elby to make this a sticky topic

I forgot to mention, that I'm adding some Actual mp3s as music (all of them will be mp3s, but not like just Game music). For Example, Level32: Mechanical Parody of Nature, will be using Nine Inch Nail's "Complication." It has no words, but is music. Here's a list of what I'm going to use so far as Music:

Sounds like original DooM/DooM II/Final DooM mapnames. I like the names, especially those evil mapnames like "flesh keep" or "face of fear".

Sometimes the simples things, like names, are the best ones. Someone asked me, "you have all the names already and you've only mapped 4 levels?!" And I told them, "The name of a level can inspire it's outcome, such as how it looks and plays." I also forgot to mention that I'm Doom64-erizing the Arch Vile and Revenant usin Paint Shop Pro 7, and some other artistic techniques. I'd say one of the leves I look forward to doing is Map32: Mechanical Parody of Nature. I can only imagine what that'll turn out like...

Yep, the names are really important.
Lets take a name like "The pit and the pendulum".
Everybody knows that story by E.A.Poe.
The first thing, i would think is, lets build some cool traps. Maybe some lavapits (Pit) and some crushing ceilings(for pendulums are rare in DooM ).
Thats it. Otherwise, the PSX/Saturn DooM and the D64 music is also very inspiring. That dark mood let me see old long forgotten buildings, like that Lovecraft stuff.

Lol. Well, I go with the .gifs. The guy in the pic on my new av's name is Arcanus the Omnipotent, but I didn't want to change from Melfice, that names my claim to fame so to speak, so I left it as Melfice the Omnipotent lol. You coulda atleast commented about Dark Nexus though...

lol. You guys know what though? Thehotdogman is a pretty good mapper ;D. I cluttered it up there, up on my last update, so I don't know if you guys saw it, but he's doing map 31: Do or Die. He's really good.

Anyways, hopefully Elby will make this thread Sticky, lol. I got alot of stuff I'm gonna endup updating off and on Boy oh boy, you guys should see my progress thread in the Absoluton forum...

Hey guys, I got a new pic!

I've been working on Mechanical Parody of Nature, which will also be using Linkin Park's "Krwlng" as it's music. The pic is an incomplete level pic (obviously), but I was just wondering what you guys thought of the way I decided to design it.
