Here's a list of games, that in my opinion, Are underappreciated for their sheer greatness.
Outcast Planescape Torment Doom Unreal Septerra Core
Ever hear about any of these anymore? NOPE. But they are worth the buy.

I don't think DOOM and Unreal were too underappreciated.... ^_-
Here's two of my favorite series that are -always- overlooked:
King's Field: FP-RPG. It worked well! People compalin of its slow movement but... you're wearing a large amount of armor, and you expect to dash about like Sonic? Gods...
Deception: Trapping and maiming people has never been so much fun! Anyway, it's mostly in slef defense, especially in 3... so it's okay to crush people with stealth rocks or imaple them on the pointy walls!

A game that´s really underappreciated for its greatness is: Blood. (Blood 1, that is)
And the main character Caleb is just so cool!
Caleb quote: "You are not going to look so good with your face ripped off!"
Caleb is tha man!

Another maybe not so underappreciated, but a kick arse game:
Dune. A good RPG-style game...
Blood is one awesome game. I wanna buy it but since I live in this lame town I can't find it anywhere. Meh. I'll live.
Some more classic quotes :
Along came a spider, an' sat down beside er', and said, "What's in the bowl, bitch?"
Hmm, I bet I could transplant the brain of a duck into the body of a marketing manager, but what would be the point?
Credits to however ripped the sounds from Blood...but yeah no more non-doom stuff on the Doom Depot...And I don't know who did them. But great work there!

I gots some for ya'll: Doom64: DEFINATELY UNDERAPPRECIATED, ESPECIALLY in da doom community. Psyiko's Strikers series: An awesome jet fighter style shoot em up... awesome 2d graphics, but very few have heard of these games. Rockman And forte (a.k.a. megaman 9): VEry few peeps in da US have heard of dis game.... but in JAPAN it's still a major hit! Awesome fuckin game where you can use megaman or bass (forte in japan)! ILL AS FUCK! Demon's Crest: da sequal to gargoyle's quest, for da snes. DA GAME IS TIGHT AS FUCK, but very few copies of it were made by capcom... dis game is fun as fuck! P.S. welcome to DDF Espi.... Móh! (whateva da hell dat means!)

Not sure if it's underappreciated or not but Populous is a great game and so is Nocturne (shame it runs slow on my crappy computer). Doom 64 is also the best Doom game in my opinion. It ROCKS.

Doom64 is the work of all evil. PSX Doom is what r0x0rs.
I think the Serpent Rider Trilogy is a little underappreciated (especially Hexen 2!).

I'd say Twisted Metal 3. 1 and 2 were good, but after that the series started to suck.
But when you look back at 3, after 4, small brawl, and Black, it just rocks!
I mean, it's not everygame you get a soundtrack made by the "Superbeast", Rob Zombie. I know the 4 had a soundtrack by him, but It wasn't near as good, and also, 4 just sucked all around. I'd like to take Minion's tank and drive around town to a couple of people's houses I can think of... ;D
Also, the video game of Vampire Hunter D. It was based off of Bloodlust, and the graphics suck compared to todays standard, but playing as D, after seeing the movie, and killing that bitch Camrilla is all worth it in the end ;D
