Heres my new project, started already. I'm putting MP3s into the game, but the mp3s will be included as a separate .wad file, and changing some gfx and all sounds, and I am making a custom DooM for ZDooM, based on the console custom DooMs, mainly the playstation one. Lighting effects will be added that are mostly accurate to the playstation one, and the playstation levels will also be recreated, (especially Hell Keep!) The red-rock hellish parts that have been removed in some cases will be left though, liek for instance in spawning vats, but I will add red lighting to it as well. Come levels, e.g. Mt. Erebus will be tned down to their Rocky appearance though. I need some help to work out the following:
Animated skys - For the fire in hell.
The nightmare spectre - Apparently it's possible.
Is it possible to change it so that the translucency that comes up on screen when you load a menu in zdoom comes up as the doom 2 intermission screen image instead?
Heck, I've got the big DOOM for the title screen (ripped form DooM Alpha), maybe its even possible to make it come up form the fire, adn have different music for the menu?
I am trying to actually get the levels form ultimate DooM into a DooM 2 wad, but the textures all mess up, and if I copy teh texture files and codes it gives me an error.
Maybe we could make that square appear around the current weapon being used in the status bar? Is that possible?
Ah well, whatever we do it's still gonna kick ass, its not just all playstation stuff, I have added new improved sound effects for the stuff that was missing from the PSX game, for instance the Arch vile has a much more evil sound now, and I have layered a few sounds too, the demon now sounds much more vicious when it charges at you and when it dies. I even have the player death sound effect without it being mixed with the DSPLDETH sound. Contact me if you wanna help.
